How Does Egg Gacha Work in PokéRogue?

Egg Gacha lets you spend Egg Vouchers to receive Eggs. After you complete enough waves, each Egg hatches and unlocks that Pokémon as a starter for future runs. The Pokémon does not join the party in your current run, but the hatch can expand or improve your starter collection.

1. What Is the Egg Gacha?

The Egg Gacha is a menu where Egg Vouchers are exchanged for random Eggs. You can choose between three machines, and each machine gives a different bonus. The base Egg rarity pool is mostly the same, so the best machine depends on what you want to improve.

Move UP! Gacha

Every Pokémon has four Egg Moves: three common Egg Moves and one rare Egg Move. The Move UP! machine increases the chance that a hatch unlocks the rare move. This does not guarantee a rare move on every pull.

Legendary UP! Gacha

The middle machine adds a second Legendary Egg result for the featured target. A regular Legendary Egg has a 1/256 chance, and the featured target has an additional 1/256 chance, giving a combined 1/128 chance of receiving either type of Legendary Egg.

The featured Pokémon changes every day at midnight UTC. When a target such as Zacian appears, open its Dex entry first and check whether its typing, abilities, starter cost and move options fit your goals before spending a large voucher.

Shiny UP! Gacha

Eggs from the Shiny UP! machine have a 1/64 chance to hatch shiny. Eggs from Move UP! and Legendary UP! have a 1/128 shiny chance. Shiny variants can also support future runs through the starter collection and Luck system.

• Losing a run does not reset Egg progress.

5. What Happens When an Egg Hatches?

A hatched Pokémon is added to your starter collection for future runs. It is not inserted into the team you are currently using.

• A new species becomes selectable as a starter.
• The hatch unlocks one of that species' Egg Moves.
• A hatch may reveal a shiny variant or Hidden Ability.
• Duplicate hatches can still unlock a missing Egg Move or improve collection options, but they may sometimes give no new Egg Move.

How Do Egg Moves Work?

Each starter has four Egg Moves. The first time you hatch a species, you are guaranteed one random Egg Move for it. Later hatches roll another move; if the game selects one you already own, no new move is unlocked.

6. Can You Choose Which Pokémon Hatches?

Normal gacha Eggs are random. You choose the machine, but you do not choose the exact species inside the Egg.

• Legendary UP! increases the chance of one featured Legendary but does not guarantee it.
• Each Egg tier has its own Pokémon pool and individual species weights.
• The pity system can improve your next rarity or help you receive a new species after repeated duplicates.

7. How Does the Egg Pity System Work?

The pity system reduces extremely long unlucky streaks. It works in two main ways.

1. Rarity pity

• Rare Egg: after 9 qualifying Eggs without a Rare Egg.
• Epic Egg: after 59 qualifying Eggs without an Epic Egg.
• Legendary Egg: after 412 qualifying Eggs without a Legendary Egg.

When the game next rolls a Common Egg, it can replace that Egg with the pity rarity.

2. New-species pity

If you hatch nine Eggs of the same tier without receiving a new species, the game tries to make the tenth Egg of that tier a species you do not own.

Legendary UP! uses additional rules for its featured banner Egg, so exact personal pity tracking can be difficult.

8. What Is a Manaphy Egg?

A Manaphy Egg is a separate special tier that needs 50 waves to hatch. It can contain either Manaphy or Phione. A normal Manaphy Egg has a 1/8 chance to hatch Manaphy and a 7/8 chance to hatch Phione.

Do not treat the Manaphy Egg as a normal Legendary Egg. Its pool and hatch result work differently.

9. Can You Buy a Specific Pokémon Egg?

Yes, but this is separate from the three gacha machines. After unlocking a Pokémon's Passive, you can spend species-specific Candies to buy an Egg that guarantees that species.

• Purchased Eggs have a 1/12 shiny rate.
